Join Jessie Chui for a 3.5-hour virtual workshop where you'll make a crepe paper Parrot Tulip — one of the most dramatic, feathery, wonderfully unruly flowers in the garden.

Modeled after the beloved 'Apricot Parrot' variety, this tulip is all about texture and movement: ruffled, notched petals layered in painterly washes of colour, a sculptural pistil and stamen centre, and a finished stem ready for display. You'll learn to work with Italian 90g crepe paper, stretch and laminate petals, use a curling tool to shape expressive edges, and paint with acrylics in loose, confident strokes. We'll also explore the difference between an Open Parrot Tulip and a Closed Parrot Tulip — so you can choose the one that speaks to you.

This workshop is designed to help you let go of perfectionism and commit to bold, organic results. Jessie will share her process for shaping parrot and non-parrot tulip petals, and show how the template shape itself changes the whole character of a flower.

Only 20 spots available.
