Jessie Chui is a self-taught paper floral artist. She aims to create beautiful and one-of-a-kind paper floral pieces that capture your imagination, capture a special feeling, or capture a moment in time. Her pieces can be dramatic or romantic, and always, timeless and everlasting. She strives to create floral pieces that look realistic and delicate. Her inspiration comes from her garden, so naturally, her aesthetic is garden-inspired.

Her passion for paper flower making originated from her earliest memory of making paper flowers by hand. She distinctively recalls making a rose out of burnt orange twist paper at an after school program during her elementary school years. Fast forward 20 years later, she naturally turned to floral paper art as her focus for her wedding centrepieces and bouquets. After her experience of creating beautiful centrepieces, bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres, she was hooked. The whole process of designing something beautiful and memorable aligned with her ambition to create beautiful art work.

What began as a nostalgic return to her arts and craft days became a passion. In August 2016, she took the plunge and Crafted to Bloom was born. Her son’s birth in October gave her a whole new perspective on life and beauty. Since then, her artistic growth has flourished. She has been featured on 100 Layer Cake, Lia Griffith's Artist Interview Series, Carte Fini Paper Artist series, The Paper Place, WedLuxe Magazine, and Holt Refrew's Holiday Magazine, to name a few. She presented a few of her paper floral sculptures at The Freedom Factory, a gallery in Toronto, in a juried exhibition of 60 artists and won 2nd prize.

Presently, Jessie only offers custom designed paper floral stems and paper floral arrangements/sculptures client by client, and she only takes on a limited number of commissions each year.

Jessie also teaches workshop, instructs private classes/lessons, and offers online courses. In addition, she, along with Quynh Nguyen of Pink and Posey, are the faces behind THE PAPER FLORISTS COLLECTIVE and the PAPER TALK PODCAST (Listen at: Spotify/Apple/PlayerFM/ListenNotes) serving an international community of paper floral artists.

Her first paper flower book, “Paper Flower Art: Create Beautifully Realistic Floral Arrangements” is due to be released in Fall 2019/Winter 2020 through GMC Publications.
